I think it ...Hi,

Sorry it took me so long to reply.

I think it looks good, but you could push the rendering a bit further and make sure that you maintain consistency with the way you colour.

You've set yourself up in a way that needs to have really detailed rendering, if you don't want to go that way then maybe work more in line with Tom richmond and have a great looking black line work and simplified colour.

In particular watch the difference in colouring style between the face and hair. Hair ia a pain to draw but it makes a massive difference when done right (check out Jason Seilers work to see what I mean). I agree with Jason Seiler about the head body connection, even though the head is mauch bigger, theoretically it still has to join to the body with the same anatomy that a regular size head would.

The main thing is that it made me laugh, it's a great idea and I say that's what it's all about!

Thanks and I hope we can chat soon.Luke Watsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10362011279305372582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167859873800558294.post-21265888187536165412008-10-02T22:51:00.000+05:302008-10-02T22:51:00.000+05:30Thanx man!Keep me posted.I would love to see your ...Thanx man!
Keep me posted.
I would love to see your nesw stuffDominic Philiberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08665263456055918206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167859873800558294.post-15559426660387699962008-09-27T08:28:00.000+05:302008-09-27T08:28:00.000+05:30Fantastic work Manoj!!..Certainly gone to one step...Fantastic work Manoj!!..Certainly gone to one step forward with this work..keep going..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167859873800558294.post-89090615570470571242008-09-18T08:25:00.000+05:302008-09-18T08:25:00.000+05:30good likeness overall. In this case, I notice that the mouth is offset to the right, compared to the nose and eyes.
Little things like that will immediately flatten out a piece. I think with this piece that you're ...Hello there! I think with this piece that you're headed in the right direction, however my suggestion to you as far as the face, is to SLOW down a bit. Do a few more thumbnail roughs and preliminary sketches first, give yourself more then your first idea to work with. I think your caricature is close but there are a few things off about his anatomy and likeness that I believe could have been solved with a few more sketches and doodles of him. Before you take a drawing to this level you can work out all of your problems with sketching, this is what I meant about SLOWING down.

Next, I think your idea of him as the statue of liberty is fine, but the execution could be a bit stronger as well. Imagine if this was something you could hold in your hand, a 3D model. What would this look like if you turned it around and looked at it from different angles? This is a fun way to think about it while you work on it. I feel the head - to - body connection doesn't look correct, they don't feel like they're really together . . . . the head sort of has that jack - in - the - box look, like it's springing away from his body.

These are only a few suggestions, but like I said earlier, I think you're heading in the right direction, just slow down a bit, take your time planning and sketching, give yourself more to work with. When it comes time to do a final piece of art, you'll be better prepared!SEILERhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06517980409939220327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167859873800558294.post-86390035735762844652008-09-14T19:24:00.000+05:302008-09-14T19:24:00.000+05:30haha hilarious stuff... a bit scary though if i mi...haha hilarious stuff... a bit scary though if i might add!!
love your pencil sketches and caricatures, thanx for the inspiration manoj!! :)DINTOONShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00674667949479745055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167859873800558294.post-21041283525034597632008-09-14T16:23:00.000+05:302008-09-14T16:23:00.000+05:30I think this the best and well rendered image from...I think this the best and well rendered image from all your previous posts. making caricatures and achieve the resemblance, likeless is not an east task & you have that skill. keep it up! Then from there slowly break down these shapes. That way you can get some good interesting shapes that work well together then fit the drawing into them. Squint a lot to keep the shapes as the most important part.David Malanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02171594717906681198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-167859873800558294.post-87236926515550355842008-09-12T22:48:00.000+05:302008-09-12T22:48:00.000+05:30Nice! How to push the cheeks behind the nose? The ears behind the cheeks? Value? Aerial perspective? I think it will make a big difference.
